Chapter 6

I stared out the window as I watched houses pass by. Then I saw Josh. Seeing him made me smile but I did NOT like him. I frowned.

“What are you mad about?” Josh said sitting next to me.

My cheeks burned.

“Oh nothing…” I said.

“Cool, so what’s your email?” he asked as he handed me a piece of paper. I wrote it down.

“Cool thanks!” he said.

“Sure, what’s yours?” I said and he handed me a paper already written.

I raised my eyebrows.

“I figured you’d ask,” he told me.

I nodded.

Then for no reason at all, I laughed.

“What are you laughing at?” he asked.

“I don’t know, I just felt like laughing,” I said.

“Are you happy for something?” he asked.

“Kinda…” I said.

“For what?” he asked.

“Nothing, nothing, something,” I said.

“Fine, if your not gonna tell!,” he said, crossed his arms and turned.

I knew he was kidding around but I played his game along.

“Fine! Like I want to talk to you!” I said and stared out of the window. I looked back at him. His mouth was open.

I laughed, “I’m just kidding!”

“That was not funny,”

“Yeah it was,” I said.

Hah, I won his little game.

Then the bus stopped in front of the school.
“Well see ya around,” I said.

“Peace”

***lunch***

Finally, the lunch lines never seemed to end. I walked to the table my friends were at. I saw Josh coming towards me. He was going to get something I guess. He pretended not to notice me. Oh well, after all he was an eighth grader. But then, he bumped into me.

I looked back surprised. He went in.

He did it, didn’t he? I mean, I couldn’t just move over an inch. I shook my head.

“Hey guys!” I said to Anna, MM and Maybelle.

“Hey,” they said in unison.

“OMG that guy totally likes you,” Anna said to me.

“Who?” I asked trying to be innocent.

“That guy!” Maybelle said pointing to Josh.

“Whatever,” I said rolling my eyes. Just then Josh passed our table, said, “sup” and went on.

“AHH! He so does! It’s so romantic!” MM said.

“EWW” I said. “MM, you really should stop reading books for older people,” I said.

“What? Maybe I mature faster,” she said.

Maybelle, Anna, and I rolled our eyes.

***Katie’s eyes***

I watched as the hottest guy in this school get up and walk to the lunch line. I believe his name was Josh. He is so awesome. Then he bumped into Kaitlyn. KAITLYN? That couldn’t be! But she was ugly! Wasn’t she?? And an EIGHTH grader?? My eyes were plaing a trick on me.

I still watched as Josh came out and went near Kaitlyn’s table. I saw his mouth move, he said something to her. Why her? And not me??

I had to do something about it. But what?
